Dealing with chronic stress with Dr. Bal Pawa

No matter how easy going you are, life gets stressful. And when stress takes over, even for those who appear to be calm all the time, it can be a chore to find our center again.

The emotional demand of stress can build up over time and if stressors are always present and you constantly feel under attack, that means your fight or flight reaction stays switched on. And that’s not good. The long term activation of that stress response and the overexposure to cortisol and other stress hormones that follows can disrupt almost ALL of our body processes leading to symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, problems sleeping, depression, anxiety, digestive issues, memory or cognitive impairment, cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases and so much more.

But life doesn’t have to be like this ???? and this week’s guest, Dr. Bal Pawa, an MD and Harvard trained mind-body health expert and author of the best selling book The Mind Body Cure, will share ways for us to shift away from chronic stress and into restful and more resilient states.

While we can’t eliminate all stressors, we can be kind to ourselves & give ourselves the tools we need to weather the storms that come.

You’ll hear her mention the magic of Breathe, Mind and Word or as Dr. Pawa refers to it – the BMW method and oh so much more. This episode is chalked full of her insights and I don’t want to keep you from Dr. Pawa any longer so let’s dive in.

Ever since I read Dr. Pawa’s book, it’s changed the way I deal with my own stress and I hope you are able to find some value from our conversation today. Like I tell you each week – if you know someone who might benefit from it – share it.
